Presentation Content:

Incidents of computer misuse by students, faculty, administrators and staff present difficult and complex issues. Complaints of computer misuse sometimes place Information Technology professionals in unfamiliar and uncomfortable roles. User Services staff may feel unqualified to make the judgments that are required for delicate situations. This program is designed to be an informal, wide-ranging, conversational overview of user privacy and key legal, ethical and policy issues. Audience participation will be encouraged. The presenters will react to a series of vignettes and will pause at various points in the discussion to solicit relevant questions and comments from the audience.
