This presentation involves recent research exploring different arrangements by which to enhance virtual workteams' affection, enjoyment, and productivity as they correspond via e-mail and computer conferencing. Attendees will learn how to initiate and manage groups with regard to their focus on diversity versus similarity, long-term versus short-term existence, and minimal versus multiple cue systems. Results from an internationally-based field experiment will be discussed.
