Presentation Content:

Abstract: The staff at the Office of Information Technology at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota, have developed a prototype CDROM-based lecture aid designed to assist faculty in delivering multimedia lecture materials conveniently. The software features an easy-to-use graphical front-end with access to the faculty member's PowerPoint presentations, ScreenCam simulations, and digital video clips, as well as Internet access and e-mail. A custom-designed whiteboard application allows faculty to take notes in class on-screen and then instantly mail them to class members. After being evaluated this spring, working versions of the software are being developed for several courses to be presented this fall. The software addresses faculty members' need for a convenient, portable way to deliver multimedia in the classroom.
