Conference Hotel
The DoubleTree Hotel in Monterey has been selected as the conference hotel. The hotel is located in Central Monterey, 200 yards from Fisherman's Wharf, at the intersection of Del Monte Avenue and Alvarado Street.

Room availability at the DoubleTree is limited to Sunday (November 9) and Monday (November 10). However, Saturday (November 8) and Tuesday (November 11) are sold out.

If you want to see where possible accomodations are located with respect to the DoubleTree, try Zip2 Yellow Pages. In the upper left hand corner of the page, select Get Directions. Your destination will be the DoubleTree Hotel, 2 Portola Plaza, Monterey, CA 93940.
Check the Monterey Salinas Transit Web page for public transportation between nearby hotels/motels and the DoubleTree Hotel. The DoubleTree is at Pacific and Franklin. The most likely bus lines to the DoubleTree are number 1 and 4. Line 4, which goes up Munras, is closest to the greatest number of alternate hotel/motels.
Directions
Monterey Airport
Leaving the airport, turn right on 68. Take 68 to the Central Monterey fork and exit left to HWY 1 south. Continue on HWY 1 and exit at the first Monterey exit.
Turn right on Camino Aguajito and continue 8 blocks to Del Monte Avenue. Turn left and stay to the left past the fork at Fisherman's Wharf. The hotel is on the right side in Portola Plaza.

San Francisco Airport
Take 101 South to 156 West to 1 South. Exit at Pacific Grove/Del Monte Avenue. On Del Monte Avenue stay in the left lane past the fork at Fisherman's Wharf. The hotel will be on the right 1 1/2 blocks after the fork.
General Arrival Directions
From the North
From Highway 1, take the "Pacific Grove-Del Monte Avenue" exit onto Del Monte Boulevard. Continue on Del Monte approximately 2 miles. Stay in the left lane. At the "Y" in the road stay left, following the "Downtown" sign. The hotel is located one block ahead on your right. Turn right at the light into Portola Plaza. Just past Golfland USA.
From the South
From Highway 1, take the "Munras Avenue" exit onto Munras. Continue downhill on Munras (even though its name changes to Abrego, then Washington) to Del Monte Avenue. Make a sharp left onto Del Monte Boulevard. The hotel is located on the right at the second light. Turn right at the light into Portola Plaza. Just past Golfland USA.
From the East
From Highway 68, take "Central Monterey" fork onto Highway 1, to the first Monterey exit. At first signal, turn right onto Agualito Avenue At next light signal, turn left onto Del Monte Avenue. Continue in the left-hand lane of Del Monte and at the "Y" in the road stay left following the "Downtown" sign. The hotel is located one block ahead on your right. Turn right at the light into Portola Plaza.
