Vendor Participation

Vendors are welcome and encouraged to participate at the SIGUCCS Fall 99 Conference in Denver, November 7 - 10. Contact with companies marketing appropriate products (training, help desk database and tracking systems, diagnostic and recovery tools, end user hardware and software, Web tools, documentation, etc.) are very valuable to the attendee and vendor alike.

The SIGUCCS Fall conference draws 350-400 college, university and government research user services professionals. It is the only major conference for this group of IT professionals. The conference offers a unique opportunity for vendors to publicize and demonstrate products and services that make providing user services more efficient and productive.

Vendors who provide support to SIGUCCS will receive an acknowledgement and thank you in our printed program and from the conference chair in a plenary session. They will also have the opportunity to have a link from our conference Web site to their Web site and the opportunity to supply a flyer or giveaway for inclusion in the conference backpacks. Additional opportunities will depend on the sponsorship.

Vendor Benefits

1. The opportunity to provide technical information on their products to a potential audience of 350-400 user services professionals.

2. The opportunity to gather invaluable insights into the requirements of user support staff in higher education environments.

3. The opportunity to obtain feedback from people who currently use their products.

4. The opportunity to keep their company name and product in the forefront of people who use these products and make the decisions to purchase these products.

Vendor Participation Rules

1. As the conference does not have a designated vendor area, smaller, more informal displays of products are encouraged.

2. Participation by the attendees at a demo will be voluntary.

3. Exhibits or demonstrations will not be held at the same time as the technical program or during conference events (unless the vendor sponsors the event and the conference committee concurs with the vendor's exhibit or demonstration).

4. The conference committee will retain all decision making authority regarding events' logistics.

5. Mailing list of attendees, including email addresses, will not be made available unless the vendor registers as an attendee. Conference attendees receive a printed list, as well as other information.
