Welcome to SIGUCCS '99, the Fall Conference planned for Denver in November.

The Fall Conference has always been the perfect conference for User Services professionals to share ideas, to discover new ways to help our clients, to see that we are all dealing with the same problems, to meet new friends and to renew old friendships, to collaborate on problems, to network with colleagues, to see new products, and to relax and have some fun!

SIGUCCS '99 will be no different, except maybe better! The Planning and Program committees are hard at work putting the conference together. We have a great set of sessions chosen, most will have two presentations per time slot to allow for longer presentations and Q&A time, we've invited some really interesting keynote speakers, we're offering poster sessions at this meeting, and of course, the fun events include the Ice Cream Social, the Opening Reception, and a dinner and evening at the Denver Museum of Natural History. In addition, Denver and the surrounding area is a great location with lots of fun things to do in the evenings or for a few days before and after the conference.

But SIGUCCS is really about you! The more you involve yourself in the conference the more you get out of it. So plan to come to Denver and encourage a colleague or co-worker to attend too. Plan to find a solution to an issue you are dealing with, to use your expertise to help someone solve a problem, to meet new friends who might be a resource in the future, to enjoy browsing at the Denver Museum of Natural History, to hear some interesting keynote speakers, to pick up new ideas in the sessions for providing service, and to return home refreshed and anxious to try out some of the new ideas you learned.

I hope to see you at the conference in Denver.
