Competitions
Each year ACM SIGUCCS sponsors a competition to honor the best publications, web sites and promotional material produced by university and college centers. A list of past winners can be seen on the ACM SIGUCCS website.

The competitions recognize excellence in developing useful and attractive publications and provide SIGUCCS conference participants with an opportunity to review model publications that may help them develop or enhance their own work.

Awards for the competitions will be presented at the ACM SIGUCCS Fall 2003 Conference, San Antonio, Texas, Sept 21-24, 2003.

The first prize for each category will be awarded to the overall top entry. However, in recognition of the differences in resources available to small schools versus large institutions, there will be two award levels in each category for second and third prizes. Schools with less than 4000 full-time undergrads will compete in Level 1 and those with 4000 or more, in Level 2.

The entries will be displayed during the conference for perusal by the conference participants.

To better align the competitions categories with the type of publications user services groups are producing, this year's categories are the following:

    Category 1: Web-based Services
    1a: Computing Services
    1b: Student Employee Web Sites

    Category 2: Computing Newsletter
    2a: Printed Computing Newsletter
    2b: Electronic Computing Newsletter

Category 3: How-to Guides and Instructional Material
    3a Electronic How-to Guides
    3b: Printed How-to Guides
    3c: Printed Instructional Classroom Material
    3d: Electronic Instructional Classroom Material

    Category 4: Quick Reference Guides

    Category 5: Promotional Materials
    5a: General Service Promotional Materials
    5b: Promotional Video/Audio
