Opening Session
During the Opening Session on Monday, Susan Hales, Bonnie Hites, Phil Isensee, Jeannie Kellogg, Kathy Mayberry, and Shiree Moreland were inducted into the SIGUCCS Hall of Fame. Dennis Mar received the Penny Crane Award and shared memories of Penny, a key person who always included first-timers into her SIGUCCS experiences, with us. He shared that Penny once asked Dennis and a woman named Susan to co-chair a conference. Two years later they were married.
Keynote Bob Clougherty encouraged us to think about today's learners, to meet them where they are, and to understand that what we do and how we do it will change as we help the learners integrate and apply what they learn to their lives.
The session closed with a challenge to move out of our comfort zones as we learn and grow.

Tuesday Events
The weather on Tuesday will be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 80's, with a slight chance of showers.
Tuesday has more technical sessions, lunch on your own, the poster session/meet the contributors session (with dessert!), more technical sessions, the BOFs, and the gala dinner event at the Rock 'n Roll Beach Club at Pleasure Island. Remember that the wrist band you will receive as you enter allows you free entry to other Pleasure Island venues Tuesday evening. Also remember that you need to wear your SIGUCCS name badge - it is your admission ticket to the gala.
