Volunteering

Volunteering is a big part of the SIGUCCS Fall Conference. As you can imagine, it takes many, many people to make this conference the very best it can be. The conference is a wonderful experience on its own, but is even more enjoyable when you are an integral part of it. Get involved by volunteering - you'll meet some new folks and form some lasting friendships!

There are opportunities to volunteer before, during and after the conference. If you can arrive in Portland Saturday morning, October 18, and want to help, we'll need assistance stuffing bags and setting up the Email and Documentation room. These activities traditionally take place in the afternoon, and culminate in a pizza party! During the conference, we need help at the registration desk starting Saturday evening througout the whole conference, and keeping an eye on the Email and Documentation Room Monday through Wednesday morning. Once the conference is over, we need help packing up the computers in the Email and Documentation room, and packing up materials and equipment loaned us by a variety of vendors to get it shipped out.

What do you get for volunteering? Aside from a really great feeling, and having the opportunity to meet more people during the conference, you'll be invited to a reception for the Penny Crane Award recipient, Hall of Fame Award recipients, and you, the Volunteers who help make it all happen.

Once you know your travel schedule and have had a chance to look over the advanced program (which will be posted in July) so you know which sessions you really, really, really have to attend, check back here and schedule some volunteer time! You'll be glad you did.

Check back soon for volunteering opportunities!
