Program

The technical program is the heart of the conference. This year’s theme embodies the spirit of St. Louis. Lewis and Clark began their great expedition from St. Louis. They explored new territories, formed alliances with new groups of people and overcame numerous challenges on a daily basis and as a result paved the way for the United States to triple in size. Sound familiar?

Communication and collaboration happen within all layers of an IT organization and throughout an institution. In fact, it is increasingly necessary and important as web based technologies challenge the “control” that IT organizations once had over the types of technologies used on campus. New technologies are being developed to support these initiatives. The ability to communicate and collaborate on a personal level and to provide technologies that support these ideas is becoming increasingly critical to our success.

Technical Program

The heart of the SIGUCCS Fall Conference are the two and a half days of technical presentations. The technical program consists of over 100 paper and poster presentations submitted by participants on topics falling within six main tracks:

  • Instructional Support
  • Training and Documentation
  • Management
  • Customer Support
  • Technology
  • Poster Session

Poster Session

SIGUCCS highlights a poster session at every fall conference. The Poster session is a 2-hour, walk-up event that allows people to share their campus experiences with colleagues on a one-to-one basis. As the name suggests, each person who is presenting in the event prepares a poster. Presenters illustrate their topic through a set of prepared materials attached to a poster board and via laptops/screens, handouts, or other visual or tactile methods. Their poster exhibitions explain their research or experience topic. Poster presentations state the problem, emphasizes the methods of approach, and address the solutions (completed or pending).

Birds-of-a-Feather Sessions (BOFs)

Following the adage that "Birds of a Feather flock together", Birds-of-a-Feather sessions are informal opportunities for you and your colleagues to meet and discuss topics of common interest. BOF sign-up sheets will be available at the Conference Information area. You can attend a BOF that interests you, or create your own BOF.
