| Description: | |
| A challenge facing most campuses today is making a choice of technologies for securing campus and intercampus communications. Digital certificates issued by certificate authorities is one technology that can support a broad range of campus and intercampus applications. This tutorial provides a structured look at digital certificates, what they are, how they work and how they are issued, and the essential components of setting up certificate authorities to issue certificates to faculty, staff and students. Two specific applications will serve as example applications - accessing resources such as JSTOR and securing email. The role of the CREN CA is also included as is A Guide on Getting Started with Digital Certificates. | |
