Session Description

Services Track, Session I
Session topic: Service in a Changing Environment
Session presenters: Kyle Barger, Lutheran Theological Seminary of Philadelphia
Format: Facilitated Discussion
Description:
I would like to focus our topic starting with discussion of some changes participants have experienced on their own campuses and how they have been able to deal with it. I'm particularly interested in the differences between changes that we as providers of IT services see as needful and that we then try to implement for a community that may or may not be receptive, and changes that we may be mandated or pressured to make by other parts of our campuses, that we ourselves may or may not feel are good ideas. For an IT organization, "change" often means "more things to do." I also hope we can spend some time talking about whether it is possible to discontinue services once they are implemented, or whether we are doomed to add things to our plates and never take anything off.
