| Session topic: | Assessing Changing Needs for Services |
| Session presenters: | James Kerlin, The Pennsylvania State University |
| Format: | Facilitated Discussion |
| Description: | |
| What are the objectives when assessing needs? What are the tools, methods, and procedures available for gathering data? What are the strengths and weaknesses of various data gathering tools? What are some of the common approaches currently being used by others to gather information? What does one do once they have the data both internally and externally? Is the need today to focus on providing more new technology or rather better using what is already available or both? Are the needs of the support organization different from those of the user of the services (perhaps not, maybe just a change in focus instead)? Some examples to be provided of creative ways to involve the users in determining support for today and tomorrow. | |
