Michael Sherer has been Director of Information Technology at Goshen
College, a four-year liberal arts college, since 1997. Prior to that he
spent six years in Notre Dame's Office of Information Technology as a
computer consultant. Michael's email sig is "Technology for Service", a
take-off on GC's motto "Culture for Service," and he strives to keep GC
technology "innovative--on a budget." Since his arrival at GC, Michael
has survived wiring the dorms, an administrative system migration, a
gigabit backbone upgrade, the assimilation of the Media Services
Department, the rapid expansion of computing and network services,
budget cuts, and over 1,000 desktop computer upgrades. He hopes to
survive the upcoming Mac and PC OS upgrades and a migration off Novell
Netware but makes no guarantees.
