Speaker Bio

Al Williams graduated from Penn State in 1968 with a BS in Computer Science. He worked the next 10 years for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT doing scientific computing and systems programming. He came back to Penn State in 1979 to manage the mainframe systems development for academic computing. Since then he led the group that provided software and systems support for student labs and technology classrooms. Most recently he moved to a newly formed entity focused on dealing with Emerging Technologies (ET). ETÂ’s responsibility is to identify and investigate interesting new technologies, and where appropriate, prototype and test them. We also have the mission of championing emerging strategies.
