Change: the Constant of Modern Times

When "modern times" are defined as the last two hundred years, it has been argued that there has been more change during modern times than during the previous 5,000 years. One of the biggest change agents of today is IT. This "big picture" talk will look briefly at three industries to examine changes past (agriculture), changes present (telecommunications), and changes future (education). At least the last two of these industries are thought to be of interest to attendees of this meeting, and the first one may provide a metaphor for coming changes in the other two.
