Executive Seminar Speaker: Cedric BennettA Strategic Approach to Information SecurityInformation security continues to be a top priority for technology leaders in higher education. Defending against an increasing frequency of sophisticated attacks coupled with the growing (and often unfunded) burden of meeting regulatory requirements--all in our culturally open and sharing academic environment--is taxing institutional leadership. This interactive session will examine approaches for getting started, how to gain broad support, how to find resources, where to focus attention first, and planning for what comes next. We'll look at staffing models, assessing risk, policy development, raising campus-wide awareness, staff training, privacy issues, and more and compare methods for managing information security. Participants will be given an opportunity to discuss, and potentially address, security issues from their own campuses.
This Executive Seminar, limited to 35 participants, is an interactive half-day session offering a chance to explore security at a strategic level with one of the foremost experts in the field. Separate registration is required to attend the seminar; details are available on the conference registration page. More information about Cedric Bennett.
