Keynote Speaker: Bryan AlexanderWeb 2.0 and its implications for higher education“Web 2.0" technologies, practices, and projects offer opportunities for higher education, engaging a variety of campus populations. Pedagogical implementations using podcasts, blogs, wikis, RSS, and others have been growing in scope and diversity. Librarians are exploring the "Library 2.0" meme. Researchers have moved into the blogosphere as public intellectuals. New forms of publishing, storytelling, and information literacy are emerging. The keynote explores the intersection of Web 2.0 with higher education, looking at the state of the art, along with trends for the near future. Also examined are strategies of keeping up with, and assessing the utility of, this fast-paced field.
