Panel Discussion Panelist: Theresa Byrd

Theresa S. Byrd is the Chief Information Officer and Director of Libraries at Ohio Wesleyan University (OWU), 2004-. She served as Director of Libraries at OWU, 1998-2004. Previously, Theresa served as Director of Learning Resources at J.Sargeant Reynolds Community College (JSRCC) from 1986-1998, and she held a variety of other positions at JSRCC from 1976-1986.

Theresa is a member of EDUCAUSE, the Council of Library and Information Resources (CLIR) Chief Information Officers, the Consortium of Liberal Arts Colleges (CLAC), the National Institute for Technology and Liberal Education, the American Library Association (ALA), and the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL). She has served on numerous ALA and ACRL committees and is active locally.

Theresa has been very involved with consortia, such as OhioLINK, the Five Colleges of Ohio, and the Virtual Library of Virginia Project. Theresa is active in the University and promotes libraries and information services by serving on various committees.

Theresa received her B.A. from Shaw University, her M.L.S. from North Carolina Central University, her M.Ed. from Virginia Commonwealth University, and her Ed.D. from the University of Virginia.
