Session: Innovation: Options, Implementations, and Technical Solutions

Title: Second Life: An Innovation in Higher Educatin (will run 90 minutes)

Does your university have land in Second Life? Have you dabbled in this 3D virtual environment? Would you like to learn more about it? This facilitated discussion will start off with an introduction to the world of Second Life. A brief tour of several islands will be given along with a presentation by Lehigh’s faculty fellow on how she is using Second Life to help her students better understand chemical models. We will examine this networking tool from an educational perspective focusing on using Second Life as a method to engage faculty in professional development and students in collaboration. The topics to be covered in this presentation will include:
