Title: Using VoIP to provide superior online education
The technology role has evolved the way distance education was delivered. Online education is growing at rapid rate in the United States Universities. Allen and Seaman (2008) described the enrollment of students in online classes was faster than the rate of onsite students in 2008. This growth is due to the fact that, internet has been used as the medium to deliver online education. The freedom of taking a college course anywhere anytime has put the virtual education at the center of educational delivery models (Doyle 2009). At the beginning of this era, the online educational software provided text chats as synchronous interaction tools among students and the instructors. Since the implementation of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) in some online educational contents, the students' learning has been improved. This presentation will explore the capabilities that VoIP adds to online course contents and students' learning accomplishments. Reference List: Doyle, W. R. (2009, May/Jun).
