Title: "Windows 7 or Bust": What Will it Mean for your Organization
Many institutions are anticipating the arrival of Windows 7. It was released to the general public on October 22, 2009 but in many cases will not significantly impact institutions until the next academic year. As with any operating system upgrade, there are many steps that need carefully planned and many questions answered in order to reduce problems for the technical staff as well as end users. What does the arrival of Windows 7 mean to your organization? How are you going to plan for a smooth transition to Windows 7? How should your organization approach the implementation of Windows 7? What support approach and policies should be considered as you plan for Windows 7? This facilitated discussion will address the many questions IT managers may have in regards to how Windows 7 will impact his/her organization, as well as provide suggestions for different approaches organizations can take.
