Background
Each year SIGUCCS sponsors
Communication Awards to recognize
outstanding publications developed at college and
university computing centers. These awards recognize excellence in developing useful and attractive
publications and provide SIGUCCS conference participants
with an opportunity to review model publications that may
help them develop or enhance their own work.
The awards are presented at the
ACM SIGUCCS Fall Conference. Anyone is welcome to display
their materials in the Documentation room at the Fall Conference.
First place award winners
will be encouraged to present their materials at the Fall Conference
Poster session. All award winners will be invited to a special recognition
breakfast during the conference.
One entry will be designated the
overall winner for each category. However, in recognition of
the differences in resources available to small schools versus large
institutions, there may be two award levels in each category for
second and third prizes. Schools with less than 4000 full-time
undergrads will compete in Level 1 and those with 4000 or more, in
Level 2.
Participate in 2008
Your entry must be developed by
staff affiliated with your college or university. Institutions
may enter up to three entries in each category. An institution may
not enter a category judged by one of its staff or faculty members.
Details on submissions can be found
on the conference web page. Look for information as
it is posted for the Fall
2008 conference.
Note: This year's first place
winners in each category will judge the publication competition next
year.
