Why should your company contribute to the 2013 ACM SIGUCCS Conference?

SIGUCCS is an international organization that has brought together leaders in technology in higher education for the past 50 years. Throughout the year, our energetic online community engages in webinars aimed at professional and organizational development and discusses topics ranging from management and leadership methods to how to fix or make a specific piece of software/hardware work for their community.

"The SIGUCCS conference is an excellent venue to gain better insight on higher education IT."

For the past 30 years, SIGUCCS has held one conference aimed at current and aspiring University/College IT leaders - all the way to the executive level - and a separate conference for staff and managers that are using tools for all aspects of university/college computing support: desktop support, classroom management, help desk operations, training, network security and maintenance, and more. At both conferences, SIGUCCS has emphasized the importance of face-to-face interactions and personal connections along with the technical knowledge that is exchanged (through inspiring keynotes speakers, welcoming and gala events, presentations - discussion/traditional/poster, and birds-of-a-feather).

As of Fall 2011, the Management Symposium and the Services & Support conferences were merged to leverage the strengths of both groups. This means that the combined conference now features executive-level decision-makers interacting with their own staff who are making use of various tools on a daily basis. Notably, discussions also span across institutions; SIGUCCS is the only conference where a Help Desk manager from one school can give a presentation to a CIO of another, then have a direct and extended conversation during lunch. The CIOs then bring that knowledge to their respective schools.

"The traffic was great, a lot of time for the attendees to come by the tables."

In this way, the combined conference truly becomes greater than the sum of its parts. Because of the broad range in types of attendees and the intimate size, SIGUCCS is the only conference of this type.

The 2012 Conference continued the attendance growth seen over the past several years. Importantly, a full ½ - almost 125 - attended both components - the Management Symposium and Service and Support Conference. Another 150 attended the Service and Support Conference. We are seeing more and more of the director and executive level attendees staying for the whole week. This only increases the synergy from having both communities attend. This places CIOs side by side with Help Desk and other support staff.

"We enjoyed how the SIGUCCS team encouraged attendees to stop by and visit with the exhibitors."

Although the conference primarily draws individuals from Higher-Education institutions within the United States, we have attendees from across the globe.

We look forward to providing you with the opportunity to build relationships with both the decision makers and decision influencers among our attendees. We welcome corporate contributions and recognize these in a variety of ways as defined by the contribution level.
